Assessment of pipeline infrastructure condition and consultations on the choice of technology
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies offers CCTV inspection of pipelines and subsequent analysis of their condition as well as advice on the choice of the most suitable rehabilitation technology. The consultations are provided by the specialists of the center, but there is also a possibility for remote consultations with foreign experts on trenchless technologies by means of video conferencing performed in the multimedia hall of the center.

Testing of technologies and materials at the test area
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies has a test area in the open and indoors where testing of new machines, equipment, instruments and materials for trenchless technologies is implemented.
The center offers complete organization of presentations and demonstrations of new products, machines and equipment in front of the specialists from the sector, the municipalities, the academic community, etc.

Laboratory testing of materials
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies has a modern laboratory where the mechanical properties of new materials for trenchless technologies can be tested and control tests of samples from finished rehabilitations can be carried out in order to confirm their quality.

Water jet pipe cleaning (low and high pressure)
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies offers elimination of deposits, corrosion products, incrustation, etc. from pipelines using a low pressure water jet (120-150 bar), as well as thorough cleaning of steel pressure pipelines using a high pressure water jet (up to 1200 bar). The dirty water is pumped with a vacuum installation and the solid matters are separated from the contaminated water in a recycling installation. In that way the same water can be used many times for cleaning a given section, which reduces environmental pollution and the time spent on feeding clean water in the machine.

CCTV inspection of pipelines
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies offers CCTV inspection of pipelines by means of a special mobile operator station equipped with a modern remote-controlled CCTV (closed circuit television inspection) robot-camera. Due to the high resolution of the camera, detailed information about the pipeline condition is obtained. That allows the precise locating of shifts, unsealed and deteriorated sections of the pipeline and other defects. The customer receives a soft copy of the full record with detailed information about the type and material of the inspected sections, diameters, inclinations as well as an expert opinion on the reasons for the reduced flow capacity of the pipeline and/or the water losses.

Remote cutting with a robot in pipelines
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies offers elimination of local defects and imperfections (unevenness and pores) in pipelines by means of remote-controlled robot-cutter. The machine is used for removing of obstacles from pipes with inside diameter from DN 200 mm to DN 600 mm; it is also suitable for opening of lateral connections after the rehabilitation.
The robot is remotely controlled from the surface; by means of an in-built colour camera the operator receives on a monitor detailed information about the size and the exact position of the obstacle and implements its removal. The image from the camera is recorded on a DVD as video material and is a compulsory component of the Protocol for the implemented work.

Logging of the exact coordinates of existing pipeline systems
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies has a DuctRunner™ for mapping the routes of existing pipeline systems. The equipment provides precise three-dimensional mapping of pipeline routes, regardless of their material, and gives information about the presence of back slopes, collapse, horizontal shifts and other defects. It is especially suitable for mapping unclear, unknown routes of old pipelines, for restoring missing documentation, as well as for checking if newly installed pipelines correspond to the project documentation.
The measurement probe is fully autonomous; it can work at any depth and underneath any obstacles (rivers, railways, highways, buildings, etc.) and is not affected by electromagnetic or other interferences. Data is processed by a specialized software. Data obtained can be uploaded directly to a geographic information system (GIS).

Rehabilitation using CIPP technology
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies offers pipeline rehabilitation by means of the Cured-in-place Pipe technology using the Phoenix equipment. This equipment allows the trenchless rehabilitation of existing water-mains, gas lines, sewers, etc. built by steel, cast iron, asbestos cement, reinforced concrete, PVC pipes, with inside diameter from 150 mm to 1220 mm.
The technology guarantees complete elimination of leakages, increase of the pipeline resistance to earth layers upheaval, vibrations, hydraulic impacts, improvement of the hydraulic properties and wear-resistance of the pipeline and extends the life of the pipeline by 50 and more years.

Rehabilitation using SPR technology
The Technological Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies offers pipeline rehabilitation by means of the SPR technology (installation of a liner from a spirally wound pipe). The technology is applied for rehabilitation of brick, concrete, cast-iron, fiberglass, plastic and other sewer pipes, low pressure water mains, rain water pipes and culverts with diameters of up to 3000 mm, providing structural rehabilitation even to severely damaged pipelines. The technology is based on the principle of “in-place” pipe production from continuous plastic (PVC or HDPE) factory manufactured strip of high stiffness and low weight. Pipe installation is implemented without any excavations, as the existing shafts are used. The technology guarantees the complete elimination of infiltration and exfiltration, improvement of the hydraulic properties and wear-resistance of pipelines and extends the life of sewers by 50 and more years.

Inspection of the current condition of systems with Pipe Inspector
Pipe Inspector provides wireless video inspection of pipelines, as well as locating of leakages.
The system allows thorough optical and acoustic inspection of pipelines, regardless of their material, without interrupting their operation. Unlike cable systems for video inspection, this method operates wirelessly, which allows continuous optical inspection of big sections, up to 50 km long. Pipe Inspector is battery powered, it overcomes 900 bends without difficulty, and it is not influenced by the type of material the pipes are made from; it is suitable for diameters from DN 100 mm to DN 1000 mm.
It can also be used to inspect inaccessible pipelines, for example at airports, highways, industrial enterprises or other access-sensitive areas.
Capabilities of the system:
– Optical video inspection
– Sound recording for detection of even the smallest leakages with accuracy of up to 10 L/h at operating pressure of 5 bar
– Pressure recording along the entire pipe length
– Turbidity measurement – optional
– Conductivity measurement – optional
– Measurement of the length in meters
– Video recording in HD quality

Inspection of the current condition of systems with Pipe Profiling Sonar
Pipe Profiling Sonar provides an acoustic method for profiling (drawing the profile of the cross-section) of the interiors of fully or partially filled pipes or boreholes. This method does not require draining of the pipes and in comparison with CCTV surveys (inspection with a camera) provides accurate quantitative data which cannot be obtained from a camera display alone. The investigation provides information about the exact profile of the pipeline cross-section, the presence of obstacles, the depth of the water flow (respectively allows determination of the water-section area, and hence measuring the flowing stream), information about the presence and quantity of sediments.
