Mayors from Latvia on a visit to the Technology Center

A delegation, consisting of nineteen Mayors from the Zemgale Planning Region in Latvia, visited the Technology Center for New Developments in Trenchless Technologies in Kazanlak, in order to take a first hand look at the Bulgarian experience in the construction and rehabilitation of pipeline networks.

The delegation, led by Mr. Aivars Okmanis, Chairman of the Zemgale Planning Region Development Council, was interested with the ecologically friendly technologies and the possibilities to implement the Bulgarian experience in Latvia.

The members of the delegation attended a live demonstration of pipeline inspection with CCTV camera and a sonar, as well as acquisition of the precise coordinates of existing pipelines using specialized equipment.  The guests were genuinely interested by the live demonstration of pipe rehabilitation by the “Cured In Place Pipe” technology.

The visit of the Latvian delegation in Kazanlak was organized the Agency for Regional Economic Development – Stara Zagora.
